Phil Morley from our band ‘Wetpaint’ told me to check out the Canadian band ‘Northern Lights’. There is some great mandolin playing and interesting arrangements. Some tracks are far from traditional Bluegrass and give you some idea of the different styles of music you can play with the basic Bluegrass lineup
Yes the king of driving Bluegrass mandolin is at the Banjo Festival in Longford, Ireland this weekend. I can’t get there myself to see him …

It was great to see everyone at the EABG festival and those that came along to the workshop - it was good to see Patrick again and his Colin Keefe F5 mandolin - which sounds better everytime I hear it.
